Bio:

Ashley Paine is in her junior year at Lake Highland Preparatory School. She maintains a 4.0 GPA while participating in numerous extra curricular activities and volunteer opportunities.  A list of some of her scholastic accomplishments includes National Honor Society, National Junior Honor Society, Who's Who Among American High School Students, President's List, Lake Highland High Honor Roll, Outstanding Chemistry Student Award, Published Author in the LHPS Veteran's Program, nominated and accepted into the National Youth Leadership Forum on Medicine, and she was selected as Best Lobbyist in the 2006 Florida State 4-H Legislature.

Cheerleading for the LHPS Middle School, JV and Varsity teams, has kept Ashley busy for the past 5 years, and earned her the Booster and the One Hundred and Ten Percent Awards.  She is actively involved in the Drama club, Latin Club, Young Republicans, and Thespian Troop 2449.  She was the recipient of the Florida Thespian District 5 Award for Best in Show in Musical Solo in 2006 and again in 2008.

Ashley's volunteer work ranges from walkathons for Lupus, the American Diabetes Society, and the American Cancer Society, to assisting young girls in learning to cheer every summer and spring in after school activities.  Her volunteer work in the Rossman Writing Center where she edited work and helped children improve their writing skills, led to the development of her platform.  Ashley's platform is Literacy Through Dramatic Reading.  Ashley and fellow students read aloud dramatically to underprivileged children in local daycare centers.  Her goal is that teen readers will spark a desire in young children to read, while also acting as outstanding teen role models to youngsters.

Ashley enjoys swimming, tennis, and golf, but her free time is often devoted to theatre projects and competitions wherein she has earned many first place awards.  Theatre is her passion, and she has had the honor of playing Nancy in "Oliver," Anna in "The King and I," Molly in "The Unsinkable Molly Brown." Adelaide in "Guys and Dolls," Elisa in "My Fair Lady," and Maize in "Seussical the Musical."  While she would like to pursue a career on Broadway, she is planning to attend a large university and receive a double major in medicine and theatre.  Perhaps she will someday be your singing, dancing dermatologist!
