Bio:

Kaitlin Jo-An Sharer “KATIE”  is  just a  hometown girl with enough courage to dream big. She was raised in the small town of Plant City and grew up as the only girl in a family filled with boys racing dirt bikes and playing baseball. She is an active member of Bell Shoal’s Baptist Church where she gets to love on high school students as a volunteer with Break Point Student Ministries and also organizes a small group Bible Study for college freshman girls. Her goal and purpose in life is to glorify God in all that she does.
 
Katie was a 2005 honor graduate of Plant City High School/Home School where she was a varsity cheerleader, Student Council representative, and member of Future Farmers of America, SADD, and the Leo Junior Lion’s Club. After graduation Katie spent a year at the University of Central Florida where she discovered her true love and passion for life. In 2006, Katie began her journey at Paul Mitchell the School  and  will be graduating with creative honors in June of 2008. As a Paul Mitchell future professional she has been an active participant in raising $3 Million for the Andrew Gomez Foundation, the Leeza Gibbons Foundation, and Habitat for Humanity. Upon graduation, Katie wants to dedicate herself to improving the lives of individuals by helping them to discover their true beauty within through using the art of hair design and make-up artistry. She plans to continue her education with Paul Mitchell Advanced Academy and aspires to be Paul Mitchell National Educator. She currently owns Katie J Image Consulting and works closely with Deb Knoske Photography as a make-up artist, hair design specialist, and wardrobe stylist. She had the privilege to work with Heather French Henry as the on-set stylist for her FourPoints Magazine cover shoot.  Her make-up tips are also featured in the current issue of FourPoints. 
 
Katie is the founder of GO SERVE with chapters in Plant City and Tampa. GO SERVE is dedicated to simply being the change and difference that we all want to see in our world. GO SERVE acts as the liaison for service organizations who are in need of an extra pair of helping hands and volunteers who desire to make a difference but lack the time to make the contacts. GO SERVE works with the Megan Carpenter Relay for Life team, Everyday Blessings,  Faith Café, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and is proud to be the sponsor  of the first annual Megan Carpenter Genuine Heart Award. This award will be presented annually in memory of Megan Carpenter at the Florida Strawberry Festival Queen’s Scholarship pageant. Katie is celebrating her sixth year anniversary as a Big Sister to her little brother Quay.
 
Katie enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, being on the beach, painting, traveling, and dancing. She is currently looking forward to becoming a certified Zumba instructor with the Tampa Metro YMCA. She is the daughter of Richard and Vicki Sharer, has a twenty- four year old brother, Matt,  a two year old black lab, Max, and an amazing group of super supportive and loving friends.
